There was not a single shirt in there! Then I went to take a look at my ironing basket, which always has at least some clothes in it. But again, I quess I hadn't been paying much attention to it, because this is how big the mountain had gotten.....
I had just finished the laundry, so everything was clean. I dumped out the basket and counted the items~
Jackson: 5 shirts
Tanner: 6 shirts
Jenni: 1 shirt
Korby: 39 shirts.... that's right 39 shirts! So I made a deal with myself that I would work on the ironing for the next couple of days until my basket is empty. I also decided to start timing myself to see how long it was going to take me to iron it all. It seemed so daunting, that I did just about everything else I could find to do around the house before starting~ cleaned both toilets and bathroom sinks, did 2 loads of dishes, cleaned my room, made my bed (at 9:30 pm- that's how desperate I was not to have to start ironing), cleaned out my walet and purse, paid the bills, cleaned out the desk drawers. I would have done more, but my kids were in bed and I had to be quiet. So, I finally started ironing and here is what I accomplished in an hour and a half....
I still have quite a ways to go, so maybe I should go iron instead of playing on the computer!

oh, the ironing pile. I battle that one too. There was one time I let it go and I think I was up to 27 (total) -- and I blogged about it! :) I try not to let the pile get to big, but like you said I'll also do just about anything else to avoid the ironing!
I hate ironing!
I get Shane the Stafford wrinkle free shirts and now I never iron anymore.
39 shirts!
My mom gets the ironing out and watches movies while she does it.
Holy smokes! That iron must be smoking right about now! Knowing you, I'll bet you have the perfect ironed shirt in about 10 seconds by the time you're done with all 39. Too bad it's not an Olympic sport! Good luck up there!
OK, I absolutely love that you cleaned your purse before the ironing!!! That cracks me up, because my purse is always the LAST thing I do, only if I'm stuck in the carpool lane, or 15 minutes early to get the kids (which NEVER happens... hence the messy purse). But, I'm Very impressed that you iron all of those shirts for Korby, Jeff's mom disliked ironing, so at a young age, all the boys in his family learned which shirts to buy, Yes, we get Staffords too, and I think I've only ironed a handful of times... kudos to you, makes me want to be a better homemaker.
Wow, you are a good wife. I don't think Steve trusts his shirts with me, so I don't do much ironing.
BYW, this is really past due but I love your new kitchen table. It is gorgeous.
